I don’t know if I’m the type of person to have a home. Maybe someday, but not now. Nothing scares me more than being trapped in my hometown, despite all its charms. I love the anonymity of travel, being alone in an unfamiliar city and the endless quest to make that place somehow your own. I dream of being mistaken for a local and have wayward tourists ask me for directions. Of spending days sketching and drinking in cafes tucked down alleys on cobblestone streets. Of seeing paintings that I had only heretofore seen only on slides in the dim of my art history classes. And perhaps more than anything, I love that I can reinvent myself every single day.
So, when I graduated University with my incredibly un-marketable degree in English & Art, I bought a one-way ticket to Europe, starting my journey by working in a B&B in the South of France. It’s been quite the adventure so far– I hope you’ll join me on my travels.
